Once again, I began my morning with a smoothie. Today, I added a new fruit to the mix. MANGO! I first used mango in a smoothie last summer after I went to a festival while living in Washington DC where they served a Mango Lassi. I had never heard of a Mango Lassi before that event, but the whole day I think I saw just about every single person with a peach colored smoothie like drink, so I just had to try one!
I didn’t have the recipe, but by looking at the ingredients on the menu (Mango, Spices, and Yogurt) I made up my own! I must say, it tastes pretty darn close to the real thing.
- 1/2 cup mango (I use frozen)
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon
- 1 sweetener packet
- ice and water for volume (about 3 ice cubes and 1/4 water)
