This morning’s workout was a sweaty one!
When I was at Butler, I used the elliptical all the time as my go-to form of cardio. Since I have been graduated, I have found running and spinning to be my usual cardio sources, but today I decided to do one of my elliptical cardio routines.
Although I love the facility I have been doing a 14 day trial on, I do not love the ellipticals. Every time I changed the direction my feet were going or the resistance the whole machine would reset! Talk about annoying…I was still able to make it a worth while workout.
After the elliptical, I did some crunches on the exercise ball, push ups, lunges, and a plank on the exercise ball.
While watching the news as I was ellipticalizing, they had a segment about hitting the snooze button on your alarm clock. Apparently, hitting the snooze button is bad because we then have the opportunity to fall back into a deep sleep which then causes us to be startled by the next sound of the alarm going off causing us to feel really bad when we wake up rather then rested and refreshed.
Honestly, I think I hit the snooze button almost everyday. I purposely set my alarm earlier than needed so that I can hit the snooze button.
Are you a snooze button user? Do you set the alarm early on purpose so you have time to snooze?
After my workout, I came home to shower then made a smoothie (even though it is actually really cold outside) for breakfast. I made a blackberry peanut butter banana smoothie:
- 1/4 cup frozen blackberries
- 1/2 medium frozen banana
- 1/2 cup unsweetened Almond Breeze
- 1 handful spinach
- 1 Tbsp peanut butter
- pinch of xanthum gum
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 Splenda packets
- 4 ice cubes and water for volume
